Chester Creek Trail moves forward
On Monday, January 9th 2012, the Middletown Township Council voted in favor of constructing the Chester Creek Branch Rail-Trail. Construction may begin as soon as spring 2012. We were told the meeting room was packed and overwhelmingly in favor of the trail, and that members of the Friends of the Chester Creek Branch gave a presentation prior to the Council's vote.
Ben Franklin Bridge south walkway closed
Beginning December 27, 2011, the south walkway on the Ben Franklin Bridge is closed for bridge repair work. Bicyclists and pedestrians looking to cross the bridge can use the north walkway, which is open from 6:00 am - 8:00 pm daily.
Those using the north walkway should be advised the Fifth Street pedestrian tunnel is closed in Camden. Alternates include the Sixth Street pedestrian tunnel or the Third Street underbridge sidewalk.
